This has simply been my experience.
Let me put out one more example. Think of those lead singers for the spandex rockstar bands (i.e. Vince Neil, Axl Rose, the guy from Poison, etc…not McCartney and Van Morrison).
All of those guys were unrepentant man-whores. Now, is it possible that the next big-time spandex rock star will also want to be a devoted father and husband? Sure.
But, how likely is it?

The people who “always seem to meet the crazies,” or “can’t figure out” what they’re doing wrong, or think their problem is “people are just intimidated by me,” etc… are definitely toxic people to avoid.
The intimidation thing has become a cliche among women of a certain age who are unhappily single. Several have blogs where they berate men for not appreciating how well-traveled they are, for example. They’re total narcissists, but rather than take a good, hard look in the mirror they distribute all the blame to others.

I read Bourne Identity decades ago, and I didn’t see the movie, but wasn’t he recruited to the CIA as a hit man because he had such “flexible” morals?
I didn’t read the book, but it’s likely. I’ve debated this with friends before. Flexible morals =/= no morals IMO. Not implying you were saying that, they just often seem to be conflated. Maybe those types are less sentimental or more pragmatic/utilitarian, or maybe they’re sentimental for different things. The greater good and all that.
